Spokane Sweeps Skagit Valley Behind Early Offense and Dominant Pitching
Spokane scored seven runs in the first three innings of Game 1 and followed with a shutout in Game 2 to complete a doubleheader sweep over Skagit Valley.

The Sasquatch wasted no time building separation in the opener, scoring seven runs over the first three innings.
Spokane capitalized on an early error in the first to plate two unearned runs. In the second, Hunter Derr delivered a two-run double to extend the lead to 4-1.
The third inning provided further breathing room. Max Workman drove in a run with a single, Ty Shepard reached on an error that brought home another, and Trent Woodhouse added an RBI single as Spokane pushed the advantage to 7-1.
Skagit Valley chipped away with single runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh to close within 7-4, but Spokane answered in the ninth when Cooper Davis lifted a sacrifice fly to score Chase Edwards for the final margin.
Edwards scored twice, Derr drove in two, and Spokane totaled 10 hits in the win.
On the mound, Sam Weaver went five innings, allowing two runs while striking out six. Brooks Pinski closed the final four innings to secure the victory.
Game 2: Spokane 11, Skagit Valley 0
The nightcap belonged entirely to Spokane, which exploded for six runs in the second inning and never looked back.
After a sacrifice fly from Workman gave Spokane a 1-0 lead in the first, the Sasquatch broke the game open in the second. Harper Dissmore doubled home a run, Cooper Davis followed with a two-run double, and Thomas Malcolm added an RBI single. A sacrifice fly from Castle Keaton capped the five-run frame as Spokane surged ahead 6-0.
Spokane added two more in the fifth on RBI singles from Dissmore and Brady Wulf, then tacked on three additional runs in the sixth and seventh to stretch the lead to 11-0.
Dissmore led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Davis and Wulf each added two hits. The Sasquatch finished with 12 hits and drew five walks.
The pitching staff was equally sharp. Luke McGuire tossed five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out four. Andrew Fox and Tiegan Ayers combined to finish the shutout as Spokane limited Skagit Valley to five hits on the afternoon.
