Spokane Women's Basketball tipped off the 2025–26 season with a strong home victory Wednesday night, defeating Clark 72–57 behind a balanced offensive effort and dominant work on the glass.
Spokane set the tone early with a 25-point first quarter and carried a 44–25 lead into halftime. Clark pushed back in the second half, but the Sasquatch maintained control throughout, using efficient shooting and consistent defensive pressure to keep the Penguins at arm's length.
Journee Brooks led Spokane with 12 points on 5-for-10 shooting, adding five assists as she paced the offense. Forward Camia Howard delivered an impressive double-double with 8 points and 11 rebounds, while Karis Santucci provided a spark off the bench with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
Spokane's depth proved to be a difference-maker, with all 11 players contributing and the bench combining for 33 points. The Sasquatch shot 45.2 percent from the field and outrebounded Clark 40–35.
Clark's Emily Peabody led all scorers with 27 points and 13 rebounds, but Spokane's balanced attack and defensive discipline helped the Sasquatch stay in control from start to finish.
With the win, Spokane opens the season 1–0 and looks to build early momentum as nonconference play continues.
