Spokane Battles No. 1 Clackamas in Sunday Finale
A strong second-quarter push kept Spokane within reach, but the unbeaten Cougars pulled away late to hand the Sasquatch a 73–55 loss in Everett.
Spokane Women's Basketball closed out its weekend in Everett with a tough matchup against undefeated Clackamas, falling 73–55 on Sunday morning.
The Cougars entered the day at 7–0 and showed why early, jumping out to a 23–14 lead in the first quarter. Spokane responded with a strong defensive second frame, holding Clackamas to just 10 points, but the Cougars regained control after halftime and pulled away late.
Ayeris Jones led Spokane with 15 points on 4-of-10 shooting, knocking down three threes and going a perfect 4-for-4 at the line. Karis Santucci delivered a big lift off the bench, finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds for her best outing of the season. Camia Howard added 4 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Journee Brooks chipped in 7 points.
Spokane held its own on the glass with a 40–40 rebounding split, but Clackamas' efficiency at the free-throw line and a 35-point performance from Alana Washington proved to be the difference.
With the loss, Spokane moves to 6–3 on the season and will look to bounce back this upcoming week as they host the NWAC Crossover at Spokane Falls Community College.
