Defense Leads the Way as Spokane Tops Everett
Behind disciplined defense and control on the glass, Spokane earned a 54–33 win over Everett on Sunday.
Spokane leaned on defense and rebounding to secure a 54–33 victory over Everett on Sunday afternoon, holding the Trojans to just 25 percent shooting and single-digit scoring in each of the first two quarters.
The Sasquatch set the tone early, opening the game on a 12–4 run and never allowing Everett to find an offensive rhythm. Spokane limited the Trojans to four points in the opening quarter and seven in the second, building a 26–11 halftime lead behind disciplined team defense and control of the glass.
Camia Howard led Spokane with 15 points, adding 10 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks for another strong all-around performance. Ayeris Jones provided a spark from the perimeter, knocking down three three-pointers on her way to nine points while also pulling down 10 rebounds.
Spokane dominated the rebounding battle 42–28, including 15 offensive boards, creating extra possessions throughout the afternoon. Karis Santucci chipped in nine points and seven rebounds, while Journee Brooks added six points and continued to impact the game defensively.
The Sasquatch forced 25 Everett turnovers and recorded 15 steals, consistently disrupting passing lanes and preventing any sustained Trojan momentum. Everett was held to just 4-of-22 shooting from three-point range and finished with only one assist as a team.
