Sasquatch Fall to Unbeaten Clackamas, 91–64
Spokane battled on the road but fell to one of the NWAC’s top programs.
Spokane ran into a tough test on the road Thursday afternoon, falling 91–64 to unbeaten Clackamas at Randall Hall as the Cougars used a fast start and efficient shooting to pull away.
Clackamas jumped out early, opening the game on a 31–15 first-quarter run that put Spokane in an immediate hole. The Sasquatch responded with their best stretch in the second quarter, outscoring the Cougars 22–14 to cut into the deficit and head into halftime trailing 45–37.
Despite the strong second-quarter push, Clackamas regained control after the break. The Cougars shot over 50 percent from the field and used a 25–11 third quarter to create separation, extending the lead to double digits heading into the final period.
Camia Howard led Spokane with 23 points on 10-for-17 shooting, adding nine rebounds and three assists. Journee Brooks finished with 10 points, five rebounds, and four steals, while Alahondra Perez contributed nine points and five assists.
Spokane battled on the glass, finishing with 15 offensive rebounds, led by Karis Santucci, who pulled down seven boards and added eight points off the bench. The Sasquatch also forced 25 turnovers, turning them into transition opportunities throughout the game.
Clackamas remained balanced offensively, placing five players in double figures and shooting 51.5 percent from the floor, while knocking down eight three-pointers to maintain control.
