Howard Records Double-Double in Road Loss at Treasure Valley
Spokane battled throughout, but a second-quarter scoring drought allowed Treasure Valley to create separation in a 77–61 decision on Saturday.
Spokane saw a strong individual performance from Camia Howard, but a difficult second quarter proved costly in a 77–61 road loss to Treasure Valley on Saturday afternoon.
The Sasquatch opened the game with energy, taking a 19–13 lead after the first quarter behind solid defensive pressure and work on the glass. Treasure Valley responded in the second, outscoring Spokane 23–4 to seize momentum and carry a 36–23 advantage into halftime.
Spokane regrouped coming out of the break, matching Treasure Valley point-for-point in the third quarter. Howard anchored the response inside, while Spokane showed improved ball movement and defensive activity to stay within reach entering the final frame. Treasure Valley, however, maintained control in the fourth quarter and pulled away late to secure the win.
Howard led all players with 20 points and 17 rebounds, recording another double-double while adding three assists, three steals, and two blocks. Ayeris Jones provided a spark on both ends, finishing with 12 points and five steals, while Journee Brooks added eight points, going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line.
Spokane won the rebounding battle 34–40 and forced 17 turnovers, but struggled to find consistency from the perimeter, shooting 11.8 percent from three-point range, which allowed Treasure Valley to maintain separation throughout the second half.
