Spokane Women's Soccer claimed the 2025 NWAC Championship on Sunday with a 1–0 victory over Highline at Starfire Stadium.
The decisive moment came in the 44th minute when Ana Thompson delivered the championship-winning goal, a composed finish that gave Spokane the lead just before halftime. Thompson led the team with four shots and three on target, while the Sasquatch generated consistent pressure throughout the match with 16 total shot attempts.
Spokane's defensive unit held strong from start to finish, keeping Highline off the scoreboard despite 11 shots and three on goal. Goalkeeper Danika Curtis recorded her second straight postseason shutout, turning away every Highline attempt to anchor a championship-level performance.
Offensively, Spokane saw major contributions across the front line. Mia Miconi and Cora Murray combined for nine shots and five on goal, continually stretching the Highline back line, while Kami Ellis added two more attempts to keep the pressure on.
Both sides battled through a physical final, combining for 18 fouls, but Spokane maintained control and composure as the minutes ticked down.
With the win, Spokane finishes the season 14-1-1 and is crowned the 2025 NWAC Champion, completing an outstanding postseason run and cementing itself as the top program in the NWAC.
