Spokane Battles Early but Falls Short Against Treasure Valley
Spokane continued to compete hard in NWAC play, battling through long rallies and close sets before dropping a 3-0 decision to Treasure Valley at home.
The Spokane volleyball team fell in straight sets to Treasure Valley on Wednesday night, dropping a 3-0 decision (22-25, 19-25, 7-25) at home. Despite a competitive start, the Sasquatch were unable to sustain their early momentum as the Chukars found their rhythm offensively.
Treasure Valley hit an impressive .352 as a team, maintaining consistent efficiency across all three sets. Spokane, meanwhile, struggled to find their offensive flow, finishing with a -.034 team hitting percentage.
Offensively, Aubree Lane led Spokane with 7 kills, while Amanda Naipo added 5 kills. Bailey Jaworski guided the offense with 6 assists and contributed 2 service aces, while Meloni Miller added 13 assists and a team-high 7 digs. Defensively, Annika Furr anchored the back row with 10 digs, helping keep rallies alive against Treasure Valley's aggressive attack.
Treasure Valley was paced by Karly Clark, who tallied 10 kills and hit .300, while Rylee Miller added 7 kills at a .462 clip. Setter Naomi Shipley directed the offense with 25 assists, and the Chukars' frontline produced 5 blocks in total.
After a tightly contested opening set, Treasure Valley gradually took control, closing out the match with a dominant third-set performance.
Spokane will look to regroup as they continue NWAC conference play, aiming to bounce back in their upcoming matches.
