Spokane Sweeps Columbia Basin to Improve to 17-7
The Sasquatch continued their strong late-season push, earning a dominant sweep on the road at Columbia Basin College.
In a strong road showing, Spokane swept Columbia Basin in straight sets, 3-0, at Columbia Basin College. The win lifts Spokane to 17-7 overall and 8-3 in NWAC East play, while the Hawks fall to 11-12 overall and 5-6 in conference action.
The Sasquatch set the tone early, taking the first set 25-18 before outlasting CBC in a tight 25-23 second set. Spokane closed out the match with a steady 25-20 victory in the third to complete the sweep.
Lainey Calvary led the way with 12 kills and an impressive .391 hitting percentage, sparking Spokane's attack. Alexis Stolp followed with 7 kills at a .412 clip, while Joy Assonken added 6 kills and hit .357. Setting duties were shared by Bailey Jaworski (19 assists) and Meloni Miller (15 assists), who kept the offense balanced and efficient. Defensively, Spokane dug deep with 60 total digs, led by Annika Furr's 10.
Spokane's consistency on both sides of the net made the difference. The Sasquatch out-hit the Hawks .162 to .087, maintained cleaner play with fewer errors, and controlled tempo through effective serving and defense.
