Spokane set the tone from the opening tip and never looked back, holding Portland to 46 points in a wire-to-wire win on Friday night.
Spokane Women's Basketball controlled the game from start to finish on Friday night, earning a 73–46 home win over Portland behind steady defense, dominance on the glass, and balanced scoring across the lineup.
The Sasquatch set the tone early, holding Portland to just nine points in the opening quarter while building a 20–9 lead. Spokane continued to apply defensive pressure throughout the first half, limiting Portland to 14 total points in the second quarter and heading into halftime up 29–14.
Spokane maintained its composure after the break, matching Portland's energy in the third quarter before pulling away decisively in the fourth. The Sasquatch outscored the Panthers 24–14 in the final period, closing the game with strong rebounding and efficient interior play.
Camia Howard delivered a standout performance in the paint, finishing with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and five assistswhile controlling the boards on both ends. Journee Brooks added 14 points and five rebounds, while Alahondra Perez filled the stat sheet with nine points, six assists, and five steals, providing constant pressure defensively.
Spokane's bench made a significant impact, led by Karis Santucci, who contributed 10 points and eight rebounds, and Stephanie Chadduck, who added nine points with efficient shooting. Shalene Ervin chipped in five points and four rebounds, helping Spokane maintain its physical edge throughout the night.
Defensively, the Sasquatch forced 30 Portland turnovers, turning defense into offense and limiting Portland to 32.7% shooting from the field. Spokane also won the rebounding battle 42–34, including 23 offensive rebounds, creating multiple second-chance opportunities.
With the win, Spokane improves to 7–3 on the season, continuing to build momentum as non-conference play rolls on at home.
